It is with great sadness that I announce the closing of Falling Leaf Systems, LLC. We set out over a year ago to provide users of both "old and unsupported" as well as "alternative" Operating Systems the ability to run the latest games for the PC. Unfortunately, Falling Leaf Systems was unable to achieve that goal.

However, every ending tends to open another door for opportunity and though we are saddened to announce our departure, we are almost as excited to announce the immediate availability of ALL source code for the Alky Project! It is licensed under the LGPL and includes both the orginal Alky Converter source used to convert the popular Prey Demo to run on OSX and Linux, as well as the alpha release of the Alky Compatibility Libraries which attempted to provide a DirectX10 compatible runtime for Windows XP.

We have also created some new forums on the site for users to discuss the coming cycle of DirectX 10 based games. We hope that you'll pop in there from time to time, and we also hope you join our mailing list to receive an announcement in case some other Open Source project decides to carry on the Alky banner.

We appreciate all your past support; Happy gaming!

Where can I get the source?

Sorry about that, links are now included in the post.

Some of the files have the license block stating LGPL 2+, and some say to look at the license file, however this is version 3.

A small note somewhere stating what version you are happy to distribute it all under would be useful (I imagine you meant LGPL all versions or LGPL version 2+ but it's a little hard to tell).

am sure the wine community will be of great help here or even revive the project.

http://www.winehq.org/

everything is re-written in full native code, no emulation, wine is not an emulator (w.i.n.e). already runs exceptionally well on Linux and MAC, support for DX9, etc. But i think you already know about the proyect.

Another proyect based on wine is http://www.reactos.org

am sure with the help of these kind communities your proyect still has a bright future.

if someone has made the impossible come true, is definitely the open source community.

i would look into their forums, since the news hasn't gotten there yet, so they can be of help asap

I downloaded the alky and philosopher I tried to get the shadowrun hack but alas it is bit torrent and I have no idea what to do with a file that is not openable. exactly where are the DX10 files you say are included in the download? I sure cant find them anywhere in the alky or philosopher folders. all i got was frustrated and basically pissed off, IF someone can instruct me a tad dont hesitate to write muggs1@comcast.net

I have to tell you i downloaded th e alky the philosopher and the shadow hack HOWEVER I despise bit torrent for a good reason every file i download is not usable> I have no idea what to rename it or anything else about that serious waste of web space. If they want to make files available do it in a normal download way. NEXT I read before download that DX10.DLL files are present in the download of alky and philosopher .. ok exactly where god I hate being pissed off

Burgundy Wine lies at the very heart of France, and is one of the world’s finest wine producing regions. Located two hours to the southeast of Paris, the wine area starts in Chablis in the north of the region and then it follows the autoroute A6 southerly to Lyon.

The Burgundy soil is mainly based on oolitic limestone, upon which both the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes flourish. The red wines, made with the Pinot Noir, are more difficult to grow because these grapes are more sensitive to disease or to being badly handled. Towards the south of the region, from around Macon, the soil changes to a reddish granite schist and sand of the Beaujolais. Here, the Gamay grape flourishes, making excellent red wines, many of which are drunk while they are young.

If you have not been to Burgundy, try it. It is a great part of France to visit for a holiday. Alternatively, stay at home and simply drink and enjoy the wine.
